About Dance on the Kusp:
Cassia Parent’s first time on stage was at age 3 in a musical production. Live performance of music, dance and character has been a part of her life ever since then and she has trained in each respectively while growing up in Port Coquitlam. Cassia trained in piano, voice, lyrical, jazz, tap, musical theater, ballet and modern for over 13 years as well as performed at competitions, in talent shows, musical productions and cabarets. She performed as part of a semi-professional dance crew who went to competitive finals in Las Vegas and Seaside, Oregon in 2002. She taught ballet, musical theater and tap at the studio where she trained, to children ages 3 and up. Upon moving to the Village of Nakusp, Cassia reignited her passion for dance and performance. She became involved with Mirror Theatre’s Spring 2012 theatre production of “The Shift”, which she won Best Supporting Actress at the KOZ Zone Festival in Revelstoke. She also has acted in and choreographed other Mirror Theatre productions since then. She decided to start Dance on the Kusp in the winter of 2013 and is ecstatic about the hard work and fun all the dancers have brought to classes!
